This week is Child Protection Week – a time to raise awareness about the rights of children in South Africa.
In light of this week, The Advocacy Committee, in collaboration with the Social Work Department, Children’s Institute, University of Cape Town, Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, RX Radio, Children’s Hospital Trust and Trauma Advocacy Group have therefore initiated a child abuse awareness campaign to stimulate a conversation about the burden of child abuse in the communities we serve, and to encourage people both within and outside the hospital to take action and protect children from harm.
[TAKE A LISTEN] to Carla Brown, head of the Social Work Department at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, talk about the different aspects of the campaign that will raise awareness around child abuse. You can also hear the voices of different members of the hospital community talking about the importance of this campaign.
