On the 16th of September President Cyril Ramaphosa took to the stand and announced that the country would be moving to Level 1 of the lockdown on Sunday the 20th of September 2020 at midnight. While the country may be moving to Level 1, citizens are still encouraged to take the necessary precautions to stay safe and healthy. Even though South Africa seems to have passed the peak of the Coronavirus storm, the fight against the virus still continues.

During Level 1, one can expect to see social gatherings take place at a larger capacity, more economic activity as the boarders will be opened for leisure and business travel etc. However, RX Radio will continue to provide Children’s Voices on COVID-19 information and education, and we encourage everyone to continue acting in a safe and responsible manner. The country may be returning to somewhat of a “new normal” but South Africa is not in the clear just yet as the President also warned citizens that a potential second wave of the pandemic still remains and that everyone should still be on the lookout.

To ensure that a second wave of the pandemic does not take place you can help by continuing to wear your mask whenever you go out in public, maintain your distance of 1.5 meters and always remember to sanitise your hands on a regular basis. RX Radio hopes that everyone will be acting responsibly, staying safe and healthy and will continue to help fight against the Coronavirus.
