The COVID- 19 pandemic has left many people questioning what the future holds, but the RX Radio team has continued to bring you all the laughter, news and entertainment through these tough times. RX Radio has achieved such a large amount of recognition and reached so many milestones which are certainly not stopping any time soon. We are also always on the lookout for opportunities to explore partnership opportunities and our most recent collaboration is with paraplegic swimmer Alwyn Uys.

Alwyn gained recognition when he made the swim from Robben Island to Blouberg beach on the 21st of December 2020. On the 24th to 26th of March Alwyn will be participating in a 3 Half Ironman events over the span of 6 hours – this consists of a 1.9 km swim, 90km bike ride and 21km run which will all be repeated 3 times. The key significance of this collaboration is to help raise awareness, generate funds and advocate for children with disabilities and show them that their disability does not define who they are – that the possibilities of their potential are endless. With this partnership, RX Radio hopes that it will send out a powerful, influential and meaningful message. Alwyn was interviewed on RX Radio where he promoted the 3 Half Ironman event and discussed why he decided to partner with RX Radio.

One of the main things that stood out for Alwyn about RX Radio was that “Children get the chance to present and are given purpose… that really inspires me because I know the situation of living with a disability or chronic condition…” said Alwyn. He also added “… this is a great cause to be involved with… if you want to show your support to what I do, donate or get involved with RX Radio… its good ground to sew your seed in”. Both Alwyn and RX Radio promote the passions, opinions and hearts of children both with disabilities and without. With this partnership and the support of our reporters, parents, hospital community and the community at large we hope to create awareness, generate funds and market the remarkable work that RX Radio does.
